HOW TO REGISTER PAN( PERSONAL ACCOUNT NUMBER) IN NEPAL

A quick and easy guide for PAN registration in Nepal.

According to the new rule of the Government of Nepal, beginning from fiscal 2019-20, all salaried workers, including both government and private firms have to compulsorily obtain Permanent Account Number (PAN).

The reason for implementing this rule is to track revenue leakages. By making PAN mandatory, the government will be able to track the actual amount of tax that an individual has been paying out of his or her earnings and whether salary expenses as recorded in the accounting system of the employer are correct or not. All employers have to record Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) in the respective accounts of their employees and in case they do not own a PAN, then the government does not validate the employer’s payment of salaries to its employees.

With this new rule in place, people are hurrying to get their PAN registered. However, many are unaware of the process entailing the PAN registration and some even don’t know how and where it can be done. To get this problem sorted, we have actually tried and tested the easiest and fastest method for PAN registration and obtaining your PAN.

Follow these simple steps for your PAN registration in no time:

1. Go to the website of Inland Revenue Department: www.ird.gov.np
2. Scroll down and click on the “Tax-Payer Portal” link.
3. On the left-hand side click on Registration (PAN, VAT, EXCISE)
4. Click on the “+” sign to expand the vertical menu.
5. Now, click on Application for Registration
6. Fill out all the details and choose the IRD office located in your area in the Verifying Offices section.
7. Press the OK button and you will be given the Submission Number. (Note submission number for future references)
8. Press on “Continue” button.
9. Now, fill out all your personal details.
10. At the end, click on the “Save” button.
11. Click on the “Print” button to get a copy of the submitted application form.
12. Take the printed copy to the IRD office located in your area.
13. The IRD office will then verify your details and provide you a PAN card which is generally expected to take around one day.

14. Important considerations

    • The PAN Card is free of cost.
    • You need to fill out the form in Nepali language. You can use Google Unicode for better assistance.
    • You may send any authorized person to submit the application form and to fetch the PAN Card on your behalf. However, an authorization letter is required for the process.

CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

Chitwan National Park (Nepali: चितवन राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्ज; formerly Royal Chitwan National Park) is the first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. It covers an area of 932 km² (360 sq mi) and is located in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal in the districts of Nawalparasi, Parsa, Chitwan and Makwanpur. In altitude it ranges from about 100 m (330 ft) in the river valleys to 815 m (2,674 ft) in the Churia Hills.^[1]

In the north and west of the protected area the Narayani-Rapti river system forms a natural boundary to human settlements. Adjacent to the east of Chitwan National Park is Parsa Wildlife Reserve, contiguous in the south is the Indian Tiger Reserve Valmiki National Park. The coherent protected area of 2,075 km² (801 sq mi) represents the Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki, which covers a 3,549 km² (1,370 sq mi) huge block of alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests.^[2]

HOW TO GET THERE ???

All "tourist buses" going from Kathmandu or Pokhara with destination "Chitwan National Park" go to the tourist town of Sauraha and will leave passengers in a bus station 7 km far from town from where they need to take a taxi, bicycle rickshaw or ox cart.
